5 Ways to Motivate Yourself to Read More
1. Go Internet Stalking: Honestly, nothing
gets me more excited to read than browsing the Amazon book tab. Amazon is your
standard international shipping company but there are other options. If you are
looking to be more experimental in your reading but you don’t have a lot of money
and you’re based in America, Book Outlet do really cheap books with free US
shipping over $35. I’m gonna do a post in the next month about the best online
bookstores so there’ll be more on that list.
2. Hit up your local library: If you don’t mind not owning the book and
you want to read it for free, libraries are where it’s at. You can browse all
you want, don’t have to drop a tonne of money on experimenting in new genres
and also it won’t be clogging up your bookshelves. I’m telling you libraries
are your best friend.
3. Check
out book blogs and YouTube channels: Nothing will get you more
excited to read than hearing other people really excited about reading. Its
such a big community that you’ll not only find reviews but also video about
book unboxing, character tier lists and if you’re in the mood for it, book
unhauls and rant reviews. They really help hype me up to read more.
4. Get
recommendations from friends: So, I don’t know if anyone
else gets this , but if a friend says they really like the book I’m reading or
they recommend it to me I tend to get through it faster. I love discussing
books and seeing what my friends’ opinions are is always fun. Equally as fun is
forcing your friends to read your favourite books, use duct tape to stick it to
them if necessary!
1. Have
allocated reading time: This changed how I read entirely. Giving
yourself say an hour which you have assigned to only reading really gets you
into a routine. It also helps you set goals that you’ll actually stick to and
therefore stay motivated.
