Opal Review
“You really shouldn’t trust a soul in this game. Not when
everyone has something to gain or lose.”

BOOKS IN THE SERIES. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Opal is the third book in the Lux series. Katy is a mess of
emotions. Filled with joy over Dawson's return. A wreck after the loss of Adam.
She's struggling to cope but luckily has her mom, friends and the ever lust
worthy Daemon. But nothing could prepare her for the return of a not so
friendly face.
So, I would have to say this is the most interesting and
action packed book so far in the series. We get to explore a little bit more
than the neighbourhood, school and the lake. Instead we hit up Luc’s nightclub,
a surreal place where Katy feels something is very wrong. I think Luc and his
nightclub really added to the atmosphere of this book, giving off an almost
80s/ 90s rocker grunge vibe.
But Katy oh Katy. She was giving me mixed emotions for sure
throughout this book. It was frustrating how she expected things to go back to
normal so quickly with Dee. Dee was mourning the sudden death of her boyfriend
and she was pretty mature about the whole thing, I think. Also, in this chapter
she injected herself between the brothers when it just wasn’t necessary. With
this chapter I have one question. Why would you put everyone in the room where
Adam died if you knew that it made everyone sad and uncomfortable?
Blake is such a good villain character though. He was so
layered because at times he made me feel sympathetic towards him and he
presented himself as a guy out of options. That being said my god he’s a
pervert towards Katy and he deserved every punch he got in this book. I hope
they find him in Origin and make him pay because the ending destroyed all of
us.
It destroyed me particular because there was major
character growth in Daemon. He really started treating Katy as an equal and was
so insanely sweet and his last words to Katy as the door separating them came
down left me VERY MUCH NOT OK.
