The Bookish Three Things Tag
So, the
current book I’m working on is taking forever so I thought why not do the
Bookish Three Things Tag. I originally found this tag on Paperfury.com.

Favourite authors
· J.K Rowling; I am a ginormous Harry
Potter fan and she was an author that really sparked my love of reading. I love
that world and really want to try some of her adult fictions. I also really
admire how she didn’t let being a woman affect her in a time when gender often
did and used a different name for books The
Cuckoo’s Calling. Anyway, rambling aside Harry Potter got me started so she had to be
here.
· Brian Selznick: His art is so amazing
and its awesome that he both writes and illustrates his books cuz what
illustrator would understand a story better than the author who wrote it. He
just has really interesting concepts and I love how he weaves the story
together.
· Rainbow Rowell: I consider her one of
the most iconic contemporary writers in YA. She just has really relatable
stories that are easy to read and has books perfect for summer reading. There’s
a reason fangirl has a cult following.

Weirdest things used as a bookmark
So
,with the title of the blog this is almost fate
· A strawberry pencil (its like a bit of
fondant wrapped in strawberry laces for anyone deprived of this diabetes
inducing treat)
· An
equally as large notebook
· A
packet of plant seeds from a convention that are still unused
3 series I binged
·
I fucking love the Lux series by Jennifer
L Armentrout. I’m trying to cautiously reread it so I don’t get sucked into
just reading for 3 days straight. They’re so fast paced and its borderline
impossible to put them down.
·
Maximum Ride by James Patterson is another
that really got my love for reading. Again, I always have time for fast paced
adventure series.
·
And for terribly similar reasons The Gone
series by Michael Grant. I had dreams about some of that twisted shit going on
in those books.
3 Characters I love
·
So, I have always loved Enoch from the Miss
Peregrine’s series. I find his ability of resurrection really interesting and I
like how he doesn’t instantly trust Jacob like so many others do. I even made a
jar of fake rats’ hearts for a world book day English class ( Massive geek?
Hell yeah)
·
Drake from the Gone series is another of
my favourites. I just find his level of sadism at such a young age intriguing
and how he has so much anger and that his decisions have lead to him having
killed everything else about him. What can I say, I like a good sociopath?
·
On the other end of the spectrum Min from
Why We Broke Up is an awesome character that I feel I bonded with. I love how
sentimental she is in the way she saved everything and her innocence and at the
end kinda just wanted to hold her. Also,
I’m very jealous of the cinema she goes to.
3 Unpopular bookish
opinions
·
I don’t have a problem with “wrecking”
books as long as they’re mine. I’m talking about breaking the spine, highlighting,
and writing notes etc. It just makes me feel more connected with books.
·
Book related item subscription boxes are a
waste of money 90% of the time. Unless
its for a specific author that I’m crazy about, it just seems like a huge risk
as you may get stuck with items and merch from books you’ve never read.
·
Will Grayson, Will Grayson was probably one
of the slowest books I’ve ever read and I wish I hadn’t. It literally took me 4
months to read this book and I have no idea what happens. I got rid of it cuz
looking at it made me irritated and it just took up space on the shelf.

·
I want to read more scripts and plays. I’m
a theatre student so I want to keep my creativity up.
·
I also want to make a big push with
contemporary and factual books this year.
